how to blow money

since i have that fabulous phone flatrate the amount of minutes i spend on the phone is almost zero. after all i could if wanted to.

what was i thinking?

snafu

no real reason. i just like the word.

leave another message

still alive.
still busy.
still not that communicative.

leave a message

i was told to leave a message once in a while so people know i am still alive.

hope this qualifies.

down to four

if you have ever looked up procrastination in your dictionary you did probably find a big fat link directly to this site, as i may very well be the incarnation of this word (in case it ever died).

one of the things i am currently particulary good at is not answering important emails from people i love/like/tolerate.

however, i have managed to get the unanswered email count down to four and i am not counting the mails from people who share my disease of course, as those are real easy to reply to. so if you are getting an email from me (that is if you know who i am) after this entry was posted, you are probably one of the people i am having trouble talking to currently.

don´t be alarmed though - it´s most likely not you. it´s usually me being the problem around here.

hail to the king

last saturday, right when i was getting ready to go to berlin for a celebration, something new happend in my life. something that has never happend before and - if i may say so - something i am not too keen on happening again: i got run over by a car.

it happend real quick, but i was quite lucky: suffered a number of bruises, a dickey ankle and a mild concussion. the car however was not damaged - just in case you wondered.

what do we learn from this experience?

two things:

1st: always expect the unexpected .

and 2nd: it can all be over in a split second.

i´ve had my share of accidents in the last years (those of you who read my crap will perhaps remember), but this one could really have ended ugly. makes one wonder about a lot of things.

my conclusion is, that i am not going to save anything anymore (not that i really did in the past). neither money nor anything else. i´ll spend it the second i have it and worry about anything else later. therefore i am going to cook a really really fancy dinner for the three of us tonight (that would be me, myself and i) plus i am going to open that bloody expensive bottle of whitewine i have been saving and i am going to drink, eat and enjoy it all.

hail to the king! long life the king!

one cent

if i had gotten one cent for every time i fucked something up real bad and every time i thought putting a bullet through my head is not such a bad idea, by now, i could probably afford the bullet, the gun and the guy to pull the trigger.

(edit: yes you are right [all of you are in fact]: i could probably still not afford the girl to pull the trigger. guess you can´t have everything now, can you?)

things you may not have known about me before

usually i am not a big fan of these questionaires because most of them suck but this one actually is not that bad so here we go:

four jobs i have had in my life,
other than my current job:

1. bouncer
2. bartender
3. banker
4. locksmith (seriously!)

four movies i would watch over and over:

1. bruce almighty
2. office space
3. groundhog day
4. gladiator

four places i have lived:

1. copperas cove
2. alameda
3. rancho palos verdes
4. bademutterstrasse

(and for those who are less knowledgeable in geography: austin, san francisco, los angeles, wismar)

four places i have been on vacation:

1. xi´ian, china
2. lim fjord, denmark
3. isola d´elba, italy (my favorite as a kid)
4. galway, ireland (my favorite today - actually all of ireland)

four websites i visit daily:

1. focus.de
2. flickr.com
3. xing.com
4. youtoube.com

four of my favorite foods:

1. pasta (all kinds)
2. pizza (all kinds except for those with pineapple)
3. shrimp creole (actually all kinds of creole food)
4. chocolate (again: all kinds except for the really, really dark one)

four places i would rather be right now:

1. berlin
2. hamburg
3. boston
4. la

(and yes, in that order)

four friends i think will respond:

aaaaaaah, the sucking questions start again! go away!

today is a good day

i slept really well and when i woke up this morning, i realized that we are going to have a b.e.a.utiful day with blue sky and lots of sunshine.

there is also not that much to do in the office today. a couple of phone calls, some emails, perhaps one or two offers that need to be drafted and discussed with the clients. alltogether nothing fancy so it is going to be an easy and stressless day.

tonight i am going to meet with j. to discuss his cooking for tomorrow evening (thanksgiving!), which is something i have been looking forward to since the end of last week. a whole evening of hopefully yummie food plus the chance to talk to a bunch of open minded americans living abroad. great!

well and finally - to put cream and sugar on top - i just found out that two of my three bosses are out of the office today.

therefore i hereby declare this day as an officially good day.
